The Ant and Grasshopper story -(An indian context then and now)
It’s an old e mail that someone had forwarded me. Of late I have feeling despair. So much that I ended up writing a few lines about being in despair. Looks like it’s a part of a deeper cleansing process due to 2 attunements in teramai reiki and seichem teacher ship. May be sometime later I may post the poem too, however this story really gives us some food for thought.
Ant & Grasshopper
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away.
Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold.
Modern Version
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and
laying up supplies for the winter.
The Grasshopper thinks the Ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the Ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.
NDTV, BBC, CNN show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor Grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Arundhati Roy stages a demonstration in front of the Ant's house.
Medha Patkar goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter.
Amnesty International and Koffi Annan criticizes the Indian Government for not upholding the fundamental rights of the Grasshopper.
The Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the Grasshopper (many promising Heaven and Everlasting Peace for prompt support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance).
Opposition MPs stage a walkout. Left parties call for 'Bharat Bandh' in West Bengal and Kerala demanding a Judicial Enquiry.
CPM in Kerala immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard in the heat so as to bring about equality of poverty among Ants and Grasshoppers.
Lalu Prasad allocates one free coach to Grasshoppers on all Indian Railway Trains, aptly named as the 'Grasshopper Rath'.
Finally, the Judicial Committee drafts the ' Prevention of Terrorism Against Grasshoppers Act' [POTAGA], with effect from the beginning of the winter.
Arjun Singh makes ' Special Reservation ' for Grasshoppers in Educational Institutions & in Government Services.
The Ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and having nothing left to pay his retroactive
taxes; its home is confiscated by the Government and handed over to the Grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV.
Arundhati Roy calls it ' A Triumph of Justice '.
Lalu calls it ' Socialistic Justice '.
CPM calls it the ' Revolutionary Resurgence of the Downtrodden '
Koffi Annan invites the Grasshopper to address the UN General Assembly.
Many years later...
The Ant has since migrated to the US and set up a multi-billion dollar company in Silicon
Valley.
100s of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere in India ... As a result of loosing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the Grasshoppers, India is still a developing country.

Karmic Blocks and their location in the body and mantra to remove the karma.
Ok people. My last video posts may be boring, but these are really interesting. The speaker in the video is an Indian guru Dattatreya Shiv Baba who apparently is said to be guru of Dr.Wayne Dyer (Author of fantastic books like "your erroneous Zones" and "manifest your destiny")
And this is the second part. Karma is localized in the throat area, Datta teaches the meditation with the Mantra "Thiru Neela Kantum" to dissolve karma that Blocks the Manifestation

2012-From an Astrological View
In my last post i embedded a video about the metaphysics and the NEW AGE. This one tells or rather tries to prove the theory of 2012 as coming of the golden age from the astrological point of view. Not that i understood much of it...rather i hardly understand any astrologer for that matter..Who keep telling us about THIS planet IN THAT Planets house...I am like HUH..Planets have houses...one being ascendant and another going retrograde. Recently one of my friends wrote on the "Mars Retrograde" so i decided to look up as to what the hell Retrograde means ,I mean how can i understand the post if i don’t know the meaning of the title itself .but it was futile .As it turned out retrograde meant planet going in a reverse direction. Indian's call it as VAKRI...I was like WHAT how can suddenly some planet travel backwards..Then it was clarified that it Appears going back when actually moving forward..Hum some crazy optical illusion due the REALTIVE movements of planets..[I do enjoy inserting theory of relativity into something or the other, makes me feel some kind of high and special] however this too was short lived as the guy i was talking about this [Big M i call him, those who have met him will know why] told me it Mathematically appears that they are going in opposite direction. That left me in even more LURCH..MATHEMATICALY...well must be some concept like minus omega..yeah it took me long time to digest about the Negative sign of the angular frequency [frequency is reciprocal of time...but how can time be negative..and if time can’t be negative ..How can frequency be negative]
OK OK ..That’s my left brain over working. So before someone just closes this blog i better give this video. Hope you like it and gives you some HOPE..

THE LOOT
Iam feeling being looted. I have recently been filling my exam forms and the fees are completly drastic. From what we used to pay in good old days , mere 300 to 500 bucks, the exam fees is like 1045 rs . Thats a whooping increase. And if you are late its a BIG sin to be. Then your fees can go up to as high as 5000 bucks. and if its for both the semesters it can be 10K almost the entire amount of money in a payment. Its majorly so for engineering. seriously its a loot.
And even if the fees are such one can'nt be bloody sure that one will get proper justice. Having myself suffered this twice i can tell you it sucks. The RTMNU seriously needs to look in its working. Afterall if there are communities like "Brave surviours of nagpur university" should tell these people someting.

another nice one
After a while you learn the subtle differenceBetween holding a hand and chaining a soulAnd you learn that love doesn't mean leaning And company doesn't mean securityAnd you begin to learn that kisses aren't contractsAnd presents aren't promises,And you begin to accept your defeatsWith your head held up and your eyes openWith the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,And you learn to build all your roads on todayBecause tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plansAnd futures have a way of falling down in midflight. After a while you learnThat even sunshine burns if you get too much,So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,And you learn that you really can endure...That you really are strong. And you really do have worth. And you learn and learn...With every goodbye you learn. Learning life every day. Falling and rising again. Biggest problem -capable of giving a lot of love and expect sometimes back little bit.i have high dreams to make it big in this big bad world.

To Blog Again
WOW .August 2006 is the time since I have this blogger account. And I have posted so little. August 2006 to December 2006 itself has something 5 posts and the whole 2007 has gone by and I have like just 6 posts. Means once in 2 months I posted something and that too not necessarily my own views. I was wondering about myself recently. What was the reason I started off blogging in the first place and why didn’t I post anything?
Apart from the lame excuses of “no time” to real reasons like being Lazy or just wanting to avoid the pain my right hand has after the typing , I have suddenly hit upon the truth. It flashed in my mind as I was looking at some old photos in my orkut albums. One of them was a funny T-shirt message saying “Of course I am out of my mind it’s dark and scary in there”
BINGO!! So that was it!! I was just avoiding going back in my mind to think about the stuff that happened. Or the things that touched me or I strongly felt about, or even blogged bout in my mind but never put on paper. This too again seems to have reason. Somewhere I was saying to myself it’s useless to go back and think about the same thing again and put it in presentable form. After all it’s gone and what’s the point of brooding over the same thing. However I was subconsciously using this “being in now practice” as a tool to avoid the issues that could really use up some introspection. WOW how subtly the mind works and avoids the core problems and tries to escape the pain and fear of witnessing something unpleasant inside of our own selves. But now I have decided not to take this path of least resistance and not succumb to the comfort zone of my mind. So I shall first start off with the pending things about which I was going to write. So now I can expect myself to blog more often.

A Good one
It's ok to kiss a fool,It's ok to let a fool kiss you,but never ever let a kiss fool you....It's still best to wait for the one you wantthan settle for the one available.Best to wait for the one you lovethan settle for one who's around.Best to wait for the right one.Life is short to waste on the wrong person....It is better to meet the person who will truly love you later, than meet someone now who promises to loveyou but sooner or later leave you forever.....Never try to impress someone to make him/her fall in love with youIf you do, you will be expected to keep the standard for the rest of your life...Fate determines who comes into our lives. The heart determines who stays...!!!

If only – In the agony of love
If only – In the agony of love
Hello all. Today I took out a old copy to write some expenses, and I suddenly found a old poem. I had completely forgotten about it. It was written on 7th of march 2006 night at 11:30 Pm. The poem is inspired from the movie called “IF ONLY”. Seems like I must have gotten emotionally touched, and hence, must have ended up writing this poem. It’s my regular feature to end up writing a poem when emotionally touched. The poem is called,
In The Agony of Love
In few movements of being in love
I lived with you a life time.
To you only do I owe ,
Whatever I claim as mine.
Your “forget me not” smile, I behold in my eyes
Your gaze always intelligent and wise
I watch in amazement your innocence of a child.
I still hold and feel your breath
Even after the so called death
Please come back for moments at least few
Just once more to hear “ I LOVE YOU “
I lived only when near to you
I existed only when dear to you
Oh! Just spare moments just few
Just one more time to hear “I love you”
Irony of fate parts us two
Not a moment goes without thinking of you
But don’t you worry and you DO know
That I keep getting strength in the agony of love.
( Shreesh Tongaonkar)
Comments are welcome, but for the record this is the first time that I am publishing my poem on a blog. Please respect the privacy and don’t usurp the poem from here.

AN Inspiration
So I am charged again. Amongst the despair and the sad bad news I saw glad news. It was not news of some happy event but a series of sad events but which has taken a turn towards happiness. Not again automatically but by sheer will power and grit and determination of human spirit. I am still watching the news and as it is unfolding, I am getting agape.
It’s the story of a gal called Baby Haldar. A girl born in Kashmir, Her father was in army who was always absent form the home. And whenever he returned there would be fights between him and his wife. And once he left the home not to return to them. And one fine day when baby was 11 years old, her mom taking her younger brother told her that she is going to market. She went and never returned. So the girl, now left alone lived in homes of different relatives. She discovered that her father had married three times to different women. Having lost her all chances of studying after 7th standard, her relatives married her off at the age of 13 to a youth who was 26 years old.
With marriage started another long saga of physical and mental torture. The father as expected never cared about the 2 children they had and hence baby started working as housemaid. This resulted in further problems and her husband stopped giving any money for the house. Having suffered thus she left the house with her children. Now working at peoples homes as maid doing sweeping and cleaning. From one city to another Durgapur , Kolkatta ,Delhi and now Gudgaon . Here she met a family who treated her well. Having lost her education opportunity she was sad. Once, the head of the family an old man who everyone called “Tatush” (meaning father in Bengali) saw her trying to read. He encouraged her to read and write. And gave her a copy and a pen to write something. As she didn’t know what to write he asked her to write about her life. He used to read what she wrote and corrected her mistakes. He once told her that she was the grandson of “munshi premchand “.
Once it so happened that “Tatush “ gave her a Bengali magazine to read and she was flabbergasted to see her name and what she used to write in the magazine. And another day a publisher came to her home and asked permission to publish her whole series of articles as book. The book now is “ AALE ANDHARI” , already making waves in literature circles. “Tatush” himself translated her book in hindi. And now the book has been translated in many languages. A sweeper of yesterday is now today a writer.
Her children who used to be ashamed to telling about their mother’s profession now proudly say that “My mother is a writer”. When TV channel’s wanted to talk to “Tatush” he refused the interview. He didn’t speak anything on camera and just said one sentence “Maine jo kiya wo to bas kartavya tha”( what I did was just a duty as a human.).
This blog is not meant to promote her book or anything, but through this I wish to express my HATS OFF to her for her spirit to fight and live against odds and to “Tatush” for his being a really good and exemplary human being. My regards and Hats Off to both of them. May god bless such souls and inspire our spirits.

PSALM OF LIFE
Hello people, this is a poem of H.W.Longfellow , you can say that its my favourite poem.
I actully ,not only started liking & reading but also Writing poems only after our english teacher taught us this particular poem.
For me its a poem of great inspiration . Hopefully you people like ,and learn someting from it too..
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. 1807–1882
A Psalm of Life
TELL me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!—
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.
Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each to-morrow
Find us farther than to-day.
Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.
In the world's broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!
Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act,—act in the living Present!
Heart within, and God o'erhead!
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;
Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.
Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.

Happy Birthday--Why The Hell ???
Last november.... A friend of mine had her birthday. She was a very close and a good friend..,as it is ..I didnt wish her...i remembered but i didn't wish her!!!! I was in a highly skeptical mood that day..also i was angry with her..she had a new boyfriend and as it is was romancing...but had started ignoring me..now iam not jelous or anything (believe me ..iam way past that attitude)..but it was imparing her develpoment....on various levels...and i was being bugged by a new question...
WHY THE HELL PEOPLE WISH EACH OTHER ON THE BIRTHDAY???
Not just her but me too...what i really had done that i should celebrate the day i was born..as it goes ...on my birthday i just relaise that another year has passed by ..and Have i really done something that i deserve to celebrate another year loss in my life...????? and when she called me next day and said "kya ree tu bhool gaya na mera birthday??" and i was like man i didnt forget it ..i seriously didn't feel like wishing you ...i mean ..what good have you done in the past year other than clearing your exams subjects???and now you are just fooling around with your boyfriend spending your money that your job is paying you ...whereas you should have looked forward to completing your graduation ..its a job you are doing..and mind well job is not a carrear.???....NOW MUCH BEFORE I COULD TALK ALL THIS ..she started crying...asking me why was i rude ..and what was matter with me..and stuff..she thanked me for not calling me on her Bday as my call would have spoilt her day..!!
NOW THAT WAS SO TRUE. But still my question was not being answered !!!!why do we celebrate Birthdays..??
Next day as i was reading "REIKI PRINCIPLES" the first one HIT ME in a new manner.
JUST FOR TODAY--BE IN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
Yes bingo thatw as it ..GRATITUDE..celebrating birthday is a way of expressing gratitude to the existance, for making you exsist.what i did last one year isnt really important..when we enjoy our friends birthdays we are expressing our gratitudes too ..to the existance or universe or god ..for being given the company of a wonderful person. Saying Happy Birthday is about giving the recognition of ones existance.!! and one must really do it..
and as far oas development goes ..YES..i still stand firm. only when you evolve and develop does the whole exsistance evolves and developes.its a moral duty to be continiously trying to evolve and develop...may be then only can we really be in attitude of gratitude towards the whole universe..and the whole universe will also be grateful for making us exsist.

Another recent favourite funny poem
ok ..now again not my poem ...well you guys ...you see exams are on and iam already lazy to type anything but what really prompted me to post this particular piece is coz of its revlevance to lives of lots of my enggineering friends. the poem is written by a doctor..the one who participated in laughter challange..I wondered as to howcome being a doctor he could write so well about lives of engg students ..well the only answer seemed that he must be getting engg students with max amt of problem. As i have too observed same at my counsellers place ...

A good poem
I am a lil skeptikal about posting my poems anywhere online.and even in the print.Though some have appeared in college magzine i usually dont give them out much. I fear that the words and rhyms may be stolen. For me a poem is like my child filled with my emotions and feelings , hence really a bit possessive about them.
The following poem i found on internet and i found very inspiring hence posting it here. As soon as know who is the auther i will credit it to the authers name.
OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbow'd.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
I HOPE YOU PEOPLE LIKE THE POEM AND TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF CREATING OUR FUTURE IN OUR OWN HANDS..
in love and light
shreesh

The poisonous kiss or the poison in the kiss
Very recently I received a photo in a email attachment from a good internet friend of mine. The photo was of a man who kissed 19 poisonous king cobras. I was like WOW what a poisonous kiss. But then just suddenly something struck me. Isn’t kissing a girl poisonous. The poison of the snake affects the body but the very sight of kissing may fill the mind with the poison of desire (Kama) and poison of lust (vasana). And then this makes the person behave stupidly. When the anger enters due to non fulfillment of desire , one loses his memory about decency and status which results in losing of his discrimination of right or wrong , this results in his character loss and everything is lost. The poison of snake affects the body but the poison of the desire affects the character.
This sequence of destruction is beautifully said in the bhagwat geeta by Lord Krishna.
KRODHAT BHAVATI SAMMOHAT, SAMMOHAT SMRUTI VIBHARAMAT,
SMRITI VIBHARAMAT BUDDHI NASHAYA, BUDDHI NASHAT PRANASHAYATI.
How true isn’t it !!! I thank this friend who sent me the mail for making me realize this thing in a unique angle.

The first blog and why
Its been quite sometime since I created my blog account and till now hadn’t post a thing. One reason was that I was too lazy to type long things writing is defiantly much easier.
Secondly time constraint and thirdly and most importantly I have been trying to figure out as to what should be written in my first blog. ABOUT ME or MY LIFE. NAAAits not that interesting. In fact sometimes its downright boring even to me myself!! So why the hell would anybody strain their eyes to read about me!!! let alone perfect strangers ..i might actually need to BRIBE my FRIENDS to read this piece and post a comment.
Hence I was trying to find something interesting…something that can catch a readers interest and I express my opinion about it (now as if it matters). After long time I narrowed down upon 3 words which perhaps are most discussed subjects irrespective of age, county ,gender ,class, culture. These are GOD, LOVE, and SEX. So much (good and evil) have happened in the name of these three. The other topics such as money , ideology , power , politics are more or less but derivatives of these three.
Another topic that could have been interesting was DEATH but lets not start anything with as morbid as that.
The important thing is WHY BLOG AT ALL.?? A recent article in magazine surveyed on this and reported “ BLOGGING – Its all about ME !!” It means people want to express and want to be listened to. So I am here too to express and share my insights with whosoever cares to know what I think and feel. So happy reading and I hope I don’t bore you people.
